What is EFT?

EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, is an evidence-based self-help therapeutic method.

I have found EFT or tapping to be the most wonderful tool, for myself, my family and my clients.  It is very easy to learn, quick to do and has powerful, effective and long-lasting results.   It’s great for relieving general stress and anxiety, which helps to boost your energy and your natural immunity, but can also be used for dealing with deeper seated issues and to target specific fears, traumas, phobias and even pain.

It was developed by Gary Craig in the 1990’s and was used initially to help with phobias and PTSD. It draws its technique from a variety of other therapies such as NLP, CBT and the ancient study of acupuncture. In fact, EFT has often been described as “Emotional acupuncture” using very light pressure.  Since then EFT has been the subject of over 100 studies and has been found to be as or more effective than conventional methods of treating a number of conditions including anxiety and depression. As a result is becoming increasingly recognised in a range of healing disciplines as well as medical and psychiatric circles.

During an EFT session you remain fully clothed and seated in a comfortable position. You can expect an initial consultation to last approximately 1 ½ hours and a brief case history, including information about medical conditions and treatment, to be taken. I will explain the simple techniques involved and we will then choose an issue you would like to focus on and start working with simple statements relating to that issue, while lightly tapping on the end points of the appropriate meridians. Most of these “tapping” points are on the face or head, with others on the upper body or hands.

Follow-up sessions last approximately one hour. Each consultation is as unique as you are and specifically geared to you.

Initial Consultation fee – £65

Subsequent Sessions – £60
